Welcome to Annandale Acres
Dear Neighbor,
Welcome to Annandale Acres, our piece of “Country Living” conveniently located inside the Washington Beltway. We are pleased to have you as our neighbor and extend an invitation to join your neighbors as a member of the Annandale Acres Civic Association. We are a neighborhood of approximately 120 single family homes situated on 150 acres.
Annandale Acres was developed in the 1930’s as a community of one acre lots planned for single family homes. The neighborhood was subdivided at that time much as it appears today. Annandale Acres is comprised of the lots on Auburn Street, Beverly Street, Calvert Street, Clemmons Court, and the houses between 4612 and 4800 Backlick Road. We have a safe neighborhood because of our location, a vibrant Neighborhood Watch program, and our interest in each others well being. You will find many friendly faces willing to lend you a hand. There are many children and pets and quite a few elderly ladies and gentlemen who can tell you the history of our neighborhood and Northern Virginia. Our civic association is active with a diverse group of people making it a fun and welcoming place to live. We hold an annual fall neighborhood picnic where old and new neighbors mingle to get to know each other and enjoy the camaraderie of a genial neighborhood.
Our association meets every quarter or as needed, if an issue arises, and we publish a periodic newsletter to inform you of issues, upcoming meetings, and events. Within the association there are four committees of special importance. We have the Neighborhood Watch program, the Drainage Committee, the Land Use Committee, and the Picnic committee. The Civic Association and these committees exist to represent the landowner interest within Annandale Acres, Mason District, and Fairfax County. It is important to have a strong civic association to protect our land, our families, and our “country living” environment. You will find that most of your neighbors love this area and work to preserve it through the civic association. Because of the importance of strong neighborhood solidarity, these committees are vital to the preservation of the community. The Neighborhood Watch program exists to protect the safety and security. The Land Use Committee exists to preserve the R1 zoning within Annandale Acres and to act as a watchdog for other land use issues in and around our community. The Drainage Committee is focused on storm water management issues. The Picnic Committee exists to plan and conduct our yearly fall picnic. Please feel free to volunteer for any committee and serve your community.
By joining the Annandale Acres Civic Association, you can do your part to preserve the peace and tranquility of our community and ensure that our collective interests are known to our neighbors, Fairfax County, and our elected officials at the local and state levels.
Thank you for your time and we look forward to getting to know you and your family.
